North East Lincolnshire Media Awards for Schools (NELMA Night)

Venue: Grimsby Auditorium

Last year's event was a fantastic opportunity for North East Lincolnshire pupils to see their work displayed on a huge screen at the Grimsby Auditorium and three of the winning schools have now been selected to attend the National Film and Animation Awards ceremony on November 23rd in London.

The themes for the 2007 awards were as follows:

  • Healthy Schools – Yes, it has made a difference!
  • Digital media with links to the school curriculum framework
award

Video Digital video
The digital video category consists of producing a short film, two - five minutes in length, which must be produced entirely by students. Schools are asked to enter films which are creatively and technically engaging. Entries must be finalised as a film, send on CD / DVD.

director Digital animation
The digital animation category is for short animations, up to two minutes in length, which are entirely produced by students. Schools are asked to enter films which are creatively and technically engaging. Entries must be finalised as a ‘film’, send on CD / DVD.

take a photo Digital still images
The digital still images category gives pupils the chance to express their creativity through the eye of a digital camera. Schools are asked to enter inspiring digital still images created by budding photographers. Images should be sent on CD / DVD.

create music Digital music
The digital music category encourages young composers and performers to demonstrate their music talents using the latest technology by entering a piece of digital music up to three minutes long. Preferred format is MP3 on a CD / DVD.
